At SG Solar ZA, we aim to supply high-quality solar equipment from reputable manufacturers. Due to the technical and electrical nature of solar products, our returns and warranty policy is structured to protect both our customers and our business.
Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
1. No Returns on Installed or Used Products
Once a product has been:
Installed
Connected to an electrical system
Powered on
Programmed or commissioned
It is no longer eligible for return, refund, or exchange.
This applies to, but is not limited to:
Inverters
Batteries
Solar panels
Electrical components
Accessories
2. Returns on Unused Products (Strict Conditions)
Returns will only be considered if all the following conditions are met:
The product is unused and uninstalled
The product is in original packaging
Packaging is undamaged and complete
All accessories, manuals, and documentation are included
The return request is made within 7 days of delivery
Returned items that do not meet these conditions will be refused.
3. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are non-returnable under any circumstances:
Installed or used products
Custom-ordered items
Special-order products
Clearance or discounted items
Products damaged due to incorrect installation, misuse, or electrical faults
Products damaged by power surges, lightning, water, fire, or external causes
4. Restocking & Handling Fees
Approved returns may be subject to:
A restocking fee (typically 15%–25%)
Inspection and handling fees
These fees will be deducted from any approved refund.
5. No Refunds for Incorrect Product Selection
SG Solar ZA is not responsible for:
Incorrect product selection by the customer
Products incompatible with existing systems
Products purchased without professional consultation
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the product is suitable for their application.
6. Warranties Are Provided by Manufacturers
Important Notice
All product warranties are provided, carried, and honoured solely by the manufacturer.
SG Solar ZA:
Does not provide product warranties
Does not guarantee manufacturer warranty outcomes
Acts only as a reseller and facilitator
Warranty terms, duration, and conditions are determined entirely by the manufacturer.
7. Warranty Claims Process
If a product develops a fault:
The customer must notify SG Solar ZA in writing
The product may be required to be returned for inspection
SG Solar ZA will assist in submitting the claim to the manufacturer
The manufacturer will determine:
Whether the claim is valid
Whether repair, replacement, or rejection applies
SG Solar ZA is not liable for:
Manufacturer delays
Rejected warranty claims
Downtime, loss of power, or loss of income
8. Shipping, Removal & Reinstallation Costs
All costs related to:
Product removal
Shipping
Courier
Reinstallation
Temporary replacement systems
Are not covered by SG Solar ZA or the manufacturer unless explicitly stated in writing.
9. No Liability for Consequential Loss
SG Solar ZA shall not be held liable for:
Loss of power
Business interruption
Loss of income
Damage to connected equipment
Any indirect or consequential losses
Use of all products is at the customer’s own risk.
10. Right to Refuse Returns or Claims
SG Solar ZA reserves the right to:
Refuse returns that do not meet this policy
Refuse claims submitted outside of manufacturer guidelines
Refuse returns without proof of purchase
11. Acceptance of Policy
By purchasing from SG Solar ZA, the customer confirms that they:
Have read and understood this policy
Accept all terms and conditions
Acknowledge that warranties are manufacturer-based only
